How we give back to the community

Corporate Social Responsibility Policy at RWL

RWL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy outlines the Firm’s efforts to give back to society as it gives to us. As a provider of legal services, RWL is fully aware of, and has a genuine commitment to CSR. We aim to maximize the impact we have on the well-being of those we serve. This is achieved through various means including but not limited to Donations & Aid, Volunteering and Learning.

At RWL, our CSR commitment to society is a proactive one as follows:

  • Supporting the community: RWL seeks to initiate and support community investment and educational programs through partnerships with vendors. The Firm may also provide support to nonprofit organizations or movements to promote cultural and economic development of global and local communities.
  • Volunteering: RWL also encourages its employees to volunteer through programs organized internally or externally. The Firm is always on the lookout to sponsor volunteering events from other organizations.
  • Donations and Aid: RWL preserves a budget to make monetary donations to various causes and organizations aimed at education, community events and the arts, as well as alleviating poverty.
  • Learning: RWL is always open to actively investing in R&D and encourages suggestions and ideas in this regard. Our Firm will try to continuously improve the way it operates.

As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility and the advancement of legal education, Rosewood Legal (“RWL / the Firm”) launched its inaugural Law School Scholarship Programme in 2025 for the 2026 academic session. The programme was established to support outstanding law graduates, promote access to quality legal education, and make a meaningful contribution to the development of the legal profession.

The 2025/2026 scholarship cycle marks the first award of this initiative, which the Firm intends to institutionalize as an annual program. In line with RWL’s long-term CSR objectives, there are plans to expand the scheme in future years to accommodate a larger number of deserving law graduates.

The inaugural scholarship programme attracted 294 applicants from prospective law students across the country. Following an initial screening conducted by the firm, 227 candidates were shortlisted and advanced to the second stage of the selection process.

Shortlisted candidates were required to sit for a written examination, designed to assess legal aptitude, analytical reasoning, and comprehension skills. Based on their performance in the examination, 17 candidates progressed to the next stage of the selection process. From this cohort, two (2) law graduates have been selected and awarded the Rosewood Legal Law School Scholarship for the 2026 academic session.

Through this initiative, RWL reaffirms its commitment to nurturing the next generation of legal professionals and to building a more inclusive, competent, and ethically grounded legal community. The Law School Scholarship Programme is intended to serve as a lasting contribution to legal education and professional excellence.

As part of our commitment to giving back to society, our 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on promoting health, wellness, and community engagement through sports, particularly the game of tennis. Demonstrating our passion for the sport and its ability to bring people together, RWL proudly served as the primary sponsor of the Hitway Tennis Tournament, which took place on the 8th and 9th of December 2023. The event brought together tennis enthusiasts, athletes, and members of the community for two days of competitive play, sportsmanship, and networking, reinforcing our belief in the power of sports to inspire healthy lifestyles and strengthen community bonds.

In a bid to make a meaningful difference and as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, our firm, in collaboration with Westplain Charity Foundation, extended a helping hand to families in need during the 2023 yuletide season. Through this initiative, we provided essential support and relief items to underserved communities, helping to ease the financial and emotional pressures many families face during the festive period. The outreach was driven by our commitment to compassion, community development, and the belief that the spirit of the season should be shared with everyone.
